To our wonderful fire service, who arrived promptly to rescue stranded motorists, when storm Babet struck Cossall. They used a boat to get to the submerged car and extracted the occupants via the sunroof.
Also, a massive thank you to Broxtowe Borough Councillor Lydia Ball, who jumped into action when contacted by Cossall Parish Council, swiftly organising sandbags to be delivered to a resident on Awsworth Lane where flood water was entering the house. The sandbags where delivered by the Refuse Manager, in person aided by a couple of his crew.
